National Platforms on Industrial Safety

Coordinating the RTD efforts among the Member States

The objective is of the creation of National Platforms on Industrial Safety is to develop synergies between public and private sectors at regional, national and European level. A co-ordinated investment in research, using all funding mechanisms at all levels will speed up the production of knwoledge and stimulate innovation in industrial safety.

Current situation regarding national TPIS

This document presents an overwiew of the level of implementation of National Technology Platforms on Industrial Safety (TPIS). This report compiles existing information in those EU Member States (MS) where national TPIS are already operating (France, Greece, Italy Poland and Spain) or are under construction (Finland, Germany, Portugal, Slovenia and in the UK)

The National Technology Platforms will also ease the implementation of the results gained from research carried out at national and European level, because implementation and knowledge transfert is more efficient at national level, and in national languages. This is particularly true, when it concerns SMEs and authorities.
